Plagiarism

Definition: Plaqgiarism is using and passinbg off as one's own the ideas, writing, images, or other intellectual creation of another person.
Why is it wrong? Plagiarism is a form of lying, cheating, and stealing and is sboth ethically wrong in the outside world and a violation of Christ school's Honor Code. At the college level, it may result in a permanent bad mark on your record. Newspaper and magazine writers have lost their jobs as a result of it. You could lose the good opinion of your teachers as well as any credit for your work. A second offense could result in expulsion from school.

What if I don't know I'm plagiarising? As with friving, ignorance of the law is no excuse! It is your job to learn what constitutes plagiarism and how to avoid it.
